With the Hope of I-League banished away much earlier, East Bengal will face Dempo at their home ground YBK with the target of remaining in a secured position, so that the threat of ‘relegation’ doesn’t hit them at the later stage of the I-League. Though the team has come out of the trench of no-win-show after 14 matches, the defence was not tested properly against poor Kalighat MS and the red and gold brigade has conceded a goal even in that match also. Before the match agaisnt Kalighat MS, East Bengal had to concede 21 goals in 7 matches. Therefore the defence of the team will keep the coach, officials and supporters in anxiety all the time. Okpara, Abhra and Alvito will find their places in the team as the suspensions on them are not applicable in the I-League matches. And after a splendid second-half performance of Sanju Pradhan, Ridder will have to think whether he will use the budding star of East Bengal right from the word go.
The temperature shooting upto 41 degree on the previous day of the match-day, and most of the players of East Bengal fielding themselves without ample rest due to obligatory two matches within 48 hours, a charming show from the players is hardly expected.
