Baichung Bhutia eventually out of Durand Cup 2009
The chance of the appearance of Baichung Bhutia in the Durand Cup 2009 came to an end with the Durand Cup Committee announcing that only players who have been registered at least 2 hours before the start of the first match of their clubs will be able to participate in the tournament. Both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan left vacant places in the list of the names of the players for registration in the Durand Cup, assuming the verdict in favour of them may provide them a scope to register the name of Baichung. But with this announcement, neither of the sides will be able to include Baichung in their teams, as there is virtually no possibillty of settlement of Baichung issue 2 hours before the start of the first match of East Bengal or Mohun Bagan.
