3 matches supension & fine to Edmilson by AIFF

Currently 4th position holder of I-League, Chirag United are in for more trouble as their key striker, Brazilian Edmilson Pardal has been suspended for next three matches (automatic one match and additional two) along with an amount of Rs 15,000 as fine which will be paid immediately before he starts playing after serving suspension.It has been decided by I-League Disciplinary sub committee after a meeting. It means Dhirag United will not get him upto Mahindra United Match.

Earlier, the Brazilian who scored 9 goals upto date in I-League for his team Chirag United, has been slapped with a show cause notice by the I-League committee, asking him to explain why he shouldn’t be handed out a longer than one-match ban for spitting on a Churchill Brothers footballer last Sunday in Kolkata.

In the match which Churchill won by a comfortable 4-2 margin, Edmilson was sent off by the referee in the 76th minute for spitting on Robert Lalthlamuana. Edmilson scored both the goals for Chirag United.

Chirag United are currently placed 4th in the league table, with 26 points.
